The 2017 PAMBA MARINE BIOTECHNOLOGY AWARD OF EXCELLENCE
(For publications/achievements in years 2016 and 2017)
The prize consists of $500 USD and a Certificate recognizing the recipient(s) and their work.
CONTRIBUTIONS ELIGIBLE FOR CONSIDERATION
The prize will be awarded to the nominated person(s), who, in the judgment of the PAMBA Award Committee, has/have made the most significant marine biotechnology Contribution in the previous two calendar years (in this case 2016 and 2017). This can take the form of a single first class publication, a series of publications for a major project, a patent for a new product or process, commercial launch of a new product or process, creation of a significant new marine biotechnology business, successful championing of a new R&D funding program or any other contribution judged to have significantly fostered or advanced Marine Biotechnology.
Only members of PAMBA are eligible for this prize. The nominee(s) must have been PAMBA member(s) at the time the Contribution was published or otherwise came into being and must be “in good standing” (i.e. dues paid) to receive the prize. Retroactive membership to create eligibility will not be allowed. In the case of team recognition, PAMBA members will share the award with non-members of the team.
The nomination case must be made succinctly, using no more than two pages (Times New Roman 12), clearly stating what the contribution was and why it was significant.
The Nomination case must be accompanied by:
- One digital copy for distribution
- Digital copies of documents or web URLs to support nominations other than scientific publications
- 2 Letters of Support from people other than the nominees.
DEADLINE FOR NOMINATIONS
Nominations for Contributions completed in 2016 and 2017 must be received by the PAMBA President before 1 April 2018. There will be NO extensions.
